How Does Able Scholar Work? An Education Coordinator (EC) will interview you to determine the student's exact needs and goals. You can request that the EC also talk to the student's teachers or counselors to get a better picture of the problems the student is facing. This consultation is completely FREE! Next, the EC will match the best instructor or instructors that will work with the student patiently, cheerfully and tirelessly toward his or her goals. The EC communicates his or her recommendations to the instructor based on the initial consulation with the student, parent and teachers. The actual educational approach, though, will ultimately be determined by the instructor and approved by the parents and student. Materials will NOT be provided by the instructor unless he or she chooses. Usually, the EC and tutor will give recommendations for appropriate supplemental materials that students or parents can acquire before the first session. Some of the materials can be found in our Online Store or Free Education Resources section, as well as at the local library.
